The difference in one table
Betzy has two currencies with two separate purposes: Gold Coins are what you play with, and Sweeps Coins are the sweepstakes entries that can be redeemed for prizes.

The split exists because promotional sweepstakes cannot require a purchase to enter: the coin you can buy is the one that can never be redeemed, and the coin that can be redeemed can always be obtained without paying.
What Gold Coins are for
Gold Coins are entertainment credits, used to play games in Gold Coin mode. They have no monetary value and are never redeemable for cash or prizes. They are licensed to you rather than sold, under the Betzy Terms of Service, so they are not your property and cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged outside the Platform.
Buying a Gold Coin package pays for entertainment only. It carries no gameplay advantage, and free-entry players have the same chance of winning as players who buy. Completed purchases are final and non-refundable, except where consumer-protection law requires otherwise. If you have been billed in error, write to support@betzy.fun within 14 days.
What Sweeps Coins are for
Sweeps Coins carry the prize value: each Redeemable Sweeps Coin is worth $1.00 USD. They are the promotional sweepstakes entries, played in Sweeps Coin mode, and they can always be obtained without a purchase. The $1.00 figure does not move with your account: VIP rank changes how much you can redeem in a rolling 24 hours, not what a Sweeps Coin is worth.
A Sweeps Coin becomes redeemable only after it has been wagered through at least one complete game round. Redemption is then subject to the conditions in the Sweepstakes Redemption Rules, which cover eligibility, identity checks, state restrictions and the limits on each request.
The three states a Sweeps Coin moves through
Three states apply to every Sweeps Coin, and the one it is in decides what you can do with it.

Wagering an Unplayed Sweeps Coin is what makes it redeemable, and it is also how it can be lost: the play-through happens in a real game round with a real outcome.
Where each currency comes from
The two balances fill from different sources, and only one of them can be bought. Gold Coins have one published route:

Bonus-Derived and Purchase-Derived Sweeps Coins
Every Sweeps Coin has one of two origins, and Betzy tracks which one applies to each coin in your balance. Bonus-Derived means the coin was awarded with no corresponding Gold Coin purchase: the new-user welcome offer, the daily login bonus, and free-play or promotional credits. Purchase-Derived means the coin was received alongside a Gold Coin purchase.
The origin decides which redemption cap applies. An account that has never bought Gold Coins, holding a balance that is entirely Bonus-Derived, may redeem 20 SC ($20.00) in total, once per account lifetime. The standard 50 SC minimum does not apply to that redemption, and the full set of caps is set out on how to redeem.
What neither currency is
Neither currency is money, and the terms are specific about what that means. Six things they are not:
- Not legal tender or currency
- Not property
- Not transferable between players
- Not sellable or exchangeable outside the Platform
- Not a bank balance
- Gold Coins: never redeemable for anything
Common questions
Can I convert Gold Coins into Sweeps Coins?
No. The two balances are separate and Gold Coins do not become Sweeps Coins. Sweeps Coins reach an account only through the routes listed above.
How much is one Sweeps Coin worth?
One Redeemable Sweeps Coin has a prize value of $1.00 USD. An Unplayed Sweeps Coin has no redemption value until it has been wagered through a complete game round.
Do I have to buy Gold Coins to get Sweeps Coins?
No. Sweeps Coins can always be obtained without a purchase, through the daily login bonus, through promotions, and through a hand-written mail-in request that awards one Sweeps Coin per qualifying request.
Why can't I redeem the Sweeps Coins I just received?
Because they are Unplayed. Each Sweeps Coin has to be wagered through at least one complete game round before it becomes Redeemable, and a standard request also has to reach the 50 SC minimum.
Do Gold Coin purchases improve my chance of winning?
No. Gold Coin purchases are optional and carry no gameplay advantage, and free-entry players have the same chance of winning as players who buy. That rule runs through how Betzy works: the free route and the paid route enter the same sweepstakes on the same terms.
